This key judicial facility serves the Superior Court jurisdiction for the northern half of Hillsborough County. The existing facility, when measured against current civic design standards, was cold, stark, and unapproachable. The comprehensive renovation transforms the interior, exterior, and site to create a facility that meets contemporary court standards, and expresses a refreshed, reserved, and friendly civic presence. The interior is reorganized to effectively separate public, court staff, and prisoner zones to facilitate both security and functional court operations.
This project has received the AIA NH Excellence in Architecture, Honor Award; LEED® Silver Certification; the Governor’s Excellence in Energy Efficiency Award; and the USGBC NH Chapter Building of the Year Award.
